“When you arrive at the bottom of the mountain in sunshine you may think "why do we need a guide?". Our trip taught me the wisdom of being prepared for the raw outdoors. Our guide Tom certainly earned his keep!

We started in sunshine and halfway up had horizontal rain and Force 5/6 winds. Tom forecast this and ensured we were wearing the right kit before the weather closed in. We then had stinging hailstones on the way down which ended as quickly as it appeared and then gentle sunshine again.

I got severe cramp in both legs but Tom sorted it for me and within six minutes, I was right as rain. He shepherded and gently herded us so gently that we didn't even know it was happening.

At one stage he rushed off to stop two inexperienced walkers taking a treacherous route down. In short, use RAW Adventures and stay safe!”

It was pouring down most of the ascent and descent plus high winds. The guides stopped regularly for water, fuel breaks and recommended when to put on waterproofs.”

“From the moment we met the guides in the car park they were brilliant - they fully explained what was going to happen and had taken precautions to change the route of the climb due to the incoming weather. There was a large group of us all with different abilities and they managed us perfectly. I have to say from my own experience Mark was my stand out super hero - I really struggled with the climb and he was so encouraging and stayed with me the whole way.

I don't think I would have completed it if it wasn't for him. Connor was another great guide - he was walking near me so we often overlapped in conversation - again so encouraging and completely not bothered that I was going at a snail's pace.

I would not undertake the climb without the guides - their experience, especially in the bad weather, was essential to our whole group. I cannot recommend you highly enough. Thank you for getting me to the top of a mountain!”
